It sure has been a busy month! Between handing out shoe boxes from the Samaritans Purse (yes I know it's not Christmas, but the delivery came late), to enabling local and western believers alike to serve in our ministry, to an overnight village trip with a potential partner in future ministry options. It has been so busy and so so good! We have also been starting our goodbyes to some our favorite places. We still have a small list of other places we want to visit one last time but we're slowing knocking things off our list!!Â
Operation Christmas child! Getting these boxes set out for the boys was surreal. You always wonder what it's like to see kids open their boxes in person. We got to witness that. Incredible opportunity. If you ever wonder if your box matters, the answer is YES!! However, I do encourage you to put a lot of practical thought in to what you're packing. We had some fish hook kits in some of them, and let me just tell ya.... that is dangerous for the boys we serve haha!Â
Always bandaging up someones toes!! These boys do everything barefoot! Play soccer, walk, fight, you name it!! That means we constantly have boys coming in with bloody feet! And when one boy comes they all swarm. It seems like they are intrigued by what we're doing. Either they enjoy watching us care for them, or they're making fun of how we do it. Because the medicine can sometimes be quite different than what they normally use here!Â
Village visit!! It took us nearly 4 hours to get there and only two and a half hours to get back! It was a good ways inland.Â
I didn't really know what to expect going to the village for an overnight stay. I was pretty nervous about how difficult it would be. The mosquitos, the lack of running water, the heat (102 degrees). But thankfully I didn't let that fear stop me from going, or having a good attitude about it. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The family in the group photo were incredibly hospitable. They fed us well, gave us one of their own beds to sleep in with a mosquito net, and were just so kind, Their hearts for their home and their neighbors were spewing out love. It was really sweet to see. We are praying about how our ministry can partner with them in the future.Â
We are officially ready to have all of our supporters change their giving to a new platform! Because we are leaving the foreign mission field and will be running things from the states for our ministry in West Africa, we now have our own 501c3! This means that we will no longer be using CTEN as our sending organization and will be completely independent as "Love Goes Ministries".
Here's what that means for you and what we need from you--
1.) Cancel your current giving through either CTEN or Grace City Church, whichever medium you use to ensure you're not double charged.
2.) Set up your monthly giving through our Love Goes Stateside 501c3, for that you have 2 options.
   a. PAYPAL / "Love Goes Ministries" email : lovegoesministries@yahoo.com
   b. CHECK / mail checks to "Love Goes 912 South Highway 185 Sullivan, MO 63080 in the memo specify "Love Goes"Â
As always, we want to express our deep gratitude for each of you. Most of you have been following us since our beginning. And some of you have started along the way. Either way we could not have done this without you. Your support prayerfully, and financially has been so incredible to watch unfold. There have been times when we didn't know how things would work out or if they would at all. With your support, once again financially and prayerfully, The Lord has completely blown us away with each need. You have played an active role in the Great Commission. We are forever thankful and amazed by you and your generosity!Â
Love, The Wehmeyer's.
